There may be times you will want to apply working patterns to a large number of employees and it can be quite heavy to do this on a one by one basis. However, creating a working pattern template will allow you to quickly assign these out to your users in one bulk action.
Generating a working pattern template is almost identical to creating a working pattern itself. For more details on working patterns, click here.
Creating a Working Pattern Template
First, you must create a working pattern template by going to:
Administration > HR > Working Patterns
Here, you will see a list of any working pattern templates you have created with an Actions column on the right-hand side that will allow you to Assign, View, Edit or Delete your templates.
To start creating a template, click on 'Add' at the bottom left of the table. You will then be presented to a screen almost identical to creating a normal working pattern for an employee, with a few differences at the top of the page.
Give your template a name to identify it within the previous table. You then have the option to choose whether you are using a duration based working pattern or whether you want to use a start/end time-based template. To use a time-based working pattern, click the below tick box on the templates screen:
If this remains not tick, the rest of the screen follows the same process as a normal working pattern. However, if you tick the above box, this will change the display to allow you to enter a start and end time as shown below:
Once you have built your working pattern, click on 'Submit' at the bottom left of the page. Once submitted, you are ready to assign this to your users.
Assigning a Working Pattern Template
There are 2 ways of assigning a working pattern template. The first is via the usual working pattern screen found on the employee's card.
Click on the 'Working Patterns' icon on the Core Details section. Once on this page, you can go ahead and select the appropriate working pattern template:
You can also bulk assign your working patterns using the 'Publish' action of your working pattern templates screen:
Clicking on the publish action will take you through the employee or metadata select screen which works the same way as publishing workflow or form. Once you have selected either the employees or the appropriate metadata filters, the pattern will then apply to the appropriate employee records.
