Within HRWize, it is possible to customize which parts of the system are available or visible to individual users or groups of users. One of the most powerful tools to achieve this is Module Templates. Module Templates can be set up by going to:
Administration > Company > Settings > Module Templates
This will display a table of existing module templates:
This table contains several common controls in the Actions column:
- 'Pencil' icon - Allows you to edit an existing template;
- 'X' icon - Allows you to delete a template;
- 'Paper Airplane' icon - Allows you to publish a template to an employee;
- Checkboxes - Allows you to select multiple templates and the 'Bulk Actions' dropdown at the bottom of the table to 'Archive' multiple templates.
Archived templates can be viewed by clicking on the 'Archived module templates' button.
You can add a template by clicking on the 'Add' button at the bottom of the table. This will display a page with many checkboxes representing the various features and modules of HRWize system:
In this example, the user has chosen to be able to view all of the modules in the system that might be available to them except for the three items that make up the sidebar on the right of HRWize - the Announcements page, Twitter feed, and Workflow bar.
Once you have made your choices, click 'Submit' to save them and return to the list of available module templates.
You can publish the templates to users by clicking on the 'Paper Airplane' icon in the Actions column:
On this page, you can choose a selection method to determine which users the template is applied against. If you choose:
- Named users - This will allow you to choose individual users by name, or by all users.
- User Groups - This will allow you to choose users by their user groups (access level) such as Employees, HR Users, Administrators, etc.
- Metadata - This will allow you to choose a cohort of employees by the metadata we store against them. For example, you could choose to apply the template to all employees in a given site or department.
Once you have made your choices, click 'Submit' to publish the module template against the employees.
It is also possible to apply an already existing module template against an employee by going to:
People > Users
Then, click on the 'Pencil' icon (Edit button) in the Actions column next to the desired employee, and choose the template in the "User module templates" dropdown.
