Report Downloads - Date Formatting

When downloading a report from HRWize, you may find that your dates come out formatted incorrectly. Most of the time, this is due to the fact that your HRWize system may be in a different date format than your Excel/computer. Excel takes on whatever date format your computer has, therefore it is important that your computer date format matches the one you’ve chosen in HRWize.

For example, if in HRWize, I view dates in mm/dd/yyyy, but my computer is formatted to mm/dd/yyyy, they may come out looking strange.

This is especially important because as you will see in the example below, Excel will attempt to create a date that makes sense, so in the case of a date that could possibly read as either mm/dd/yyyy or dd/mm/yyyy (ex. May 4th might translate to April 5th) your data will be incorrect.

In HRWize:

In Excel:

On a Windows PC, the easiest way to check is to go to System Settings > Date & time. There is a section called Related Settings.

Click on Date, time & regional formatting.

Under Regional format data, you’ll see the Short date format. To change this, click on Change data formats.

You can then edit the short date to match HRWize.
