There is a setting in the expense settings where you can show timesheet information for an employee on the expense approval screen. This can be useful to make sure that timesheet records and expense claims marry up with each other.
To enable this setting, go to:
Administration > Company > Setting > Expenses > Expense Settings
Set the option "Show timesheets information against expense lines" to 'Yes'.
With this enabled, the approval/view screen of the expense will have a down arrow which when expanded, shows you the detail recorded on the employee's timesheet on the date of the expense claim.
In the below example, we have an expense claim for a client visit on a particular date, and expanding this option will give me the below information:
We can see that the employee logged 2 separate entries on their timesheet for this date with the second being logged in against a client visit reference in the afternoon. We can see that the expense claim logged in against a Client Environment with a receipt matches up with the employee's activity on this date and we can choose whether or not to approve this claim after looking at this information.
