In some cases you may want your return to work process to go to someone other than the employee's manager, if this is the case you can do so by creating a custom return to work workflow.
To begin navigate into Administration -> HR -> Workflows.
Then click Add to create a new workflow.
The workflow Category should be Continuous.
The workflow Type should be Time off instance
set the instances to 1 - 999 and then set your time off type to 'Unauthorised' or all of the time off types which you'd like to require a return to work form.
Then designate the period of time over which the workflow should trigger.
You can then complete the rest of the settings as you see fit.
Once you submit this page you can then add in your workflow step(s).
You can use a Send new form step to send out your return to work form and then choose any recipients you'd like.
The next key thing is to set this workflow step to trigger 0 days after time off end date, that way the form will only be sent out once the employee has returned to work.
Please note: you will have to disable the 'return to work required' option in time off types for the time off that the workflow will be looking for otherwise the default process will also trigger, to do so simply navigate into Administration -> HR -> Time Off Management -> Time Off types, locate the time off type we need to edit and click Actions -> Edit then change the 'return to work required' field to No and click Submit. You must repeat this process for all time off types that require a return to work.
