On timesheet reporting, why does total time show up with minutes of more than 59?

When you build and run a timesheet report in:

Reporting > Report builder

This shows the Timesheet total hours time worked as a decimal fraction rather than in minutes and hours. This is done so the calculations are able to be correctly utilized when totaling.

For example, 9.750 is NOT 9 hours and 75 minutes, but it's 9 hours and three-quarter hours or 9 hours and 45 minutes.

To convert the 0.75 decimal fractions to minutes, multiply the 0.75 by 60 and you will 45 minutes.

If you see an entry that shows 8.217 hours, then multiply 0.217 by 60, and you will get 13 minutes.

There are many websites that can carry out Time to Decimal and Decimal Time to Minutes calculations if you need additional help.
